Watermelon Radish – Vege from Farmers Market

We often see this radish on the French dish in Japan … but found this at the farmers market and made simple salad.

Didn’t know how to call it in English cause Japanese call it as Koshin-Daikon. Kou means red color (as Red/White means Kou/Haku).. Shin is centre core. But found the name “watermelon radish”… kinda cute 😉 I guess it’s from the color that green skin and inside is red cos not sweet at all… even a little spicy!

It’s the end of the fall in Japan now but the color is like Sakura flower petal … look forward to seeing Sakura flowers next spring!
