Leek Teriyaki

Japanese Leek called Shiro-Negi might be a bit different from leek in western countries but it’s so tasty even can taste a sweetness especially when it’s grilled on a frying pan. 

Yakitori Leek is cooked by strong heat. So it’s a little burnt and dry. So I prefer using a frying pan with low to medium heat until it’s cooked and looks softer. 

If you can get a teriyaki sauce, just add the sauce before turn off the heat. If you have some Japanese seasoning at your home, you can make it with simple step. Mix Japanese soy sauce, sake, sweet wine and sugar. That’s it! 

For finishing, I sprinkled shichimi pepper (Japanese red chili pepper and other spices) same as I always enjoy it for Chicken & Leek Yakitori.
